My Perfect Day in Rome

I figure I need to kick off this feature with my own perfect day.

Rome is my favorite city in the world, I would move there tomorrow.

Here is a quick look at what my perfect day would look like in Rome. Feel free to reach out if you’re looking for more Chekamendations for my favorite city!

  • Even though I don’t drink coffee, a morning visit to il caffe Sant’ Eustachio near the Roman Senate is an experience not to be missed. I think it’s more fun to grab an espresso or “shakerato” with a cornetto at the counter, but if you prefer to people watch, you can grab a table outside.

    • EXTRA TIP: If you order a cappuccino, they automatically put sugar in it at this caffe, so definitely make sure you let them know if you don’t want sugar.

  • Walk down the Corso Vittorio Emmanuele to the Emmanuel II monument, affectionately known locally as the Wedding Cake (because it looks like one)! There are often great exhibits in the museum behind the monument, so check out what’s happening when you’re there.

On the back side there is an elevator that takes you up to the roof; you can see spectacular views of the Colosseum and the Forum from up there.

  • One of my favorite restaurants in Rome is Marzapane Roma. It’s a fabulous restaurant all around, from the service to the décor to the mouth-watering food. As a self proclaimed Spaghetti Carbonara connoisseur, this is probably the best deconstructed one I’ve ever had.

  • If the weather is nice, grab a post-dinner drink at the rooftop bar at the Hotel Raphael right off of Piazza Navona and reflect on your wonderful day in la bella citta!
