Rethinking How I Travel

As I sit at home and realize that many of the trips I was looking forward to this year are likely not happening, I have started to rethink my long preferred way and dreams about traveling. I am the kind of person who thrives on packing whatever I can fit in to two carryon bags and jetting off to explore a new place.

As I realize that is not realistic for the remainder of this year, and because when I can, I am ready to get out and explore in whatever way is possible, I have begun to think about alternatives.

I prefer to hop on an airplane any day before a long car ride. However, after the last month of sitting at home, throwing everything I own in the back of my car and going on a long car ride to explore a part of this country I have not seen before, sounds pretty great!

I spent a lot of time in my early twenties driving back and forth from Maine to DC and everything in between. Some of my best memories were of those rides with friends visiting other friends and family along the way. Why not take the opportunity in this new reality, to do the same thing again?

I have long wanted to visit cities like: Asheville, Savannah and Atlanta - so why not now?

Traveling is a big part of my life and looking forward/planning upcoming trips keeps me sane, and I’m not willing to give that up! I am excited for the opportunity to use my passion for trip planning to come up with some new ways to explore this beautiful world we’re lucky enough to call home!

How are you adjusting to travel restrictions? Have you come up with any good alternatives?

See you out there!
